02.10.15 Île de Ré
We are working on a garden in Île de Ré, off the west coast of France near La Rochelle.
The species selected are drought tolerant because they are growing on shallow sandy soil next to the beach and were planted last June.
Perennials such as Salvia Amistad or Tulbalgia violacea are combined with grasses such as Panicum ‘Heavy Metal’ or Panicum ‘Shenandoah’. We have also planted Olive and Fig trees.
