Prairie beds in a walled garden in the Cotswolds: the seed will be sown by hand over these sand covered beds at very low density by mixing the seed with sawdust. The nylon string grid will help with this. The seeds will germinate in the spring and the sand will act as a mulch to help keep weed seed out of the mix. The prairie plants will reach above waist height in the first season and above head height in the second season.

Next update on the new prairie beds in the spring.
