The planting close to the glasshouse garden at Wisley was redone when the Hakonechloa mysteriously failed. Chafer grubs? Mice? It was never quite established what was the cause. The Hakonechloa has been replaced with Miscanthus Starlight. An excellent low growing variety supplied by Neil Lucas at Knoll Gardens. It's significantly taller than the Hak, so we hope the beech columns will be grown taller to allow for this.
