Looking over the meadow at home in the early morning. These were cowslips that I sowed about 25 years ago - growing on dry gravel. Later on they were mixed up with Narcissus poeticus recurvus.
The design team enjoyed a day gardening at the Barn and visited Kate's garden next door at Serge Hill.
After a late start to the summer, Tom’s prairie garden is finally in full bloom. A group gathered at Serge Hill to admire the full effect of the planting.
The first ever festival of writing about gardens took place in Tom and Sue Stuart-Smith’s garden at Serge Hill in Hertfordshire. The Garden Museum organised the inspiring event over two perfectly sunny days - 29th & 30th June.
The design team enjoyed a day out at Serge Hill making installations inspired by three areas of Tom’s garden - meadow, wildflowers, woodland - for the Festival of Garden Literature.
