Château de Beaucastel

Located in the Rhone valley 30km north of Avignon, Château de Beaucastel is a biodynamic vineyard in the famous Appellation d'origine contrôlée Châteauneuf-du-Pape. In 2018, The Perrin Family, who have been running the vineyard for generations, ran an international competition to transform the architecture and landscape to better reflect their sustainable and modern approach toward wine making and to achieve a stronger attachment to the terroir. The project is a collaboration between Architects Studio Mumbai, Tom Stuart-Smith Ltd and a multidisciplinary team of engineers.

The proposed garden and utility spaces are set within the confines of rammed earth walls, include a new productive garden, a fruit-tree courtyard, a private garden with pool, vine covered worker’s yard, visitor parking and several pergola-covered terraces. The site is now under development with construction works due to start in 2020.
