Hampton Court 2021

The show garden featured a drought-tolerant perennial planting interspersed with Mediterranean shrubs. It was designed to showcase plants that are suited to the prolonged hot and dry conditions that have become increasingly commonplace each year.

The herbaceous plants were grown in the UK by Sunnyside Rural Trust, a charity and social enterprise offering training and work experience for vulnerable people with learning disabilities.

The garden was designed with sustainability as a priority. Its simplicity and minimal hard landscaping, as well as the re-use and recycling of most of the elements within it ensured that nothing went to waste.

After the show, the plants were relocated to RHS Garden Wisley to be used in the replanting of the bicentenary glasshouse garden, which Tom originally designed in 2007.
