The design for this garden, surrounding an historic finca in the south-east part of Mallorca, has been undertaken in close collaboration with the clients. It moves away from the extensive lawns that were out of context with the harsh and dry surrounding environment, and reliant on the abundant use of water pumped from the water table. The initial work on this project has been focused on addressing some of these issues, which has allowed for a stronger connection between the garden and the landscape to be established. Further phases of the garden’s development, including the seeding of several hectares of native wildflower meadow, is currently ongoing.
